Profile
Avant-garde activist. An advocate of indigenous peoples' rights, Voltz is carving a niche in policy advocacy that nurtures and promotes indigenous knowledge and practices. He traces his politicization back to his active involvement in student politics, having been elected as a topnotcher second year representative, then as Vice Chairperson and, subsequently, as Chairperson of the UP College Baguio Student Council. He also headed the Baguio-Benguet chapter of the National Union of Students of the Philippines. Before moving to the metropolis, he served as the Secretary General of the militant Tongtongan Ti Umili (BAYAN-Baguio). He occasionally writes for webmagazines and performs with the People's Chorale under the direction of Maestro Jun de Leon, Jr. of the UP College of Music. He sees blogging as yet another arena of contemporary engagement in politics and culture.
