Dear Fellow Alumni:

The UP Baguio Grand Alumni Homecoming has been reset to December 16 and 17, 2008. These dates will coincide with the Centennial Christmas celebrations on campus, highlighted by the Lantern parade and Pasiklaban at the Oblation Plaza on December 17.

The three Colleges (College of Arts and Communication, College of Science and College of Social Sciences) are also scheduling College reunions in the morning of December 16, including lunch sponsored by the Colleges.

Evening of the 16th, we will have our General Reunion Dinner and Solidarity Night at the UP Baguio Auditorium and UP Baguio Courtyard.

Then we all join the December 17 Lantern Parade down Session Road. Alumni will comprise the motorcade contingent. The parade and motorcade will converge back at the UP Baguio grounds for the Centennial Pasiklaban.

  • Hi Connie,

The best way is to join the Alumni ng UP Baguio Yahoo! Group. I've already posted a message regarding your request to reconnect on your behalf. Will keep you posted for any responses.

    Hi,

I did not graduate of UP Baguio but studied there for three semesters from 1970 though 1971 then moved on to UP Diliman. I am interested to get in touch with former students during my time especially members of a Sorority/Faternity group that I joined. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name. I am now in the US and would like to meet up or connect with old friends from Baguio but I do not know how to start. Hoping you can help. Thanks!

    Connie

sinong mga UPans na mahilig sa music pa ang mga nasa baguio area para we could get together and do a number or two sa homecoming? it would be great if we could get our instruments out of the closet and play again para sa mga folks (parang pasiklaban)!

dito lang ako sa baguio pero kung di kayo makapunta I think we can rehearse online (via youtube!) hehehehe. you can send me your video and I can overdub it with drums.

we need to get our material presented to the homecoming heads para they can tell if we are a go or no go weeks before the event.

some of the things we can play are music that was popular and influential sa atin during our time in college... example nung batch namin ang usong kanta ay "Kaleidoscope world" ni francis m. let's try to work with good music... there will be other UPans that will watch us so maganda kung may mga sense na pyesa lang ang gagawin.

maganda din kung hindi masyadong leftist ang pyesa... i'm sure u will get enough of those from other artists sa event.
I'm thinking of songs that will bring UPans back in time (when they were still in college)

I can play the drums and I am looking for other people who will join me on this little "production". hopefully we can be a complete band by next month so we can start asap!

If you are interested, leave me a message at gammapolaris@yahoo.com
  • As mentioned on the Yahoo egroup discussion, the Alumni Homecoming should be tailored for the alumni!

The students and other residents of the campus can conduct their annual activities on their own time. Those activities can also be changed to coincide with the alumni events - not the other way around. Alumni do not have as much flexibility as the students have.

    Salamat po!
  • I sure hope that the dates would be re-considered because the fares a lot more expensive closer to Christmas. That means I would have to fork out twice as much as I was hoping to spend. :(
