Paalam, Sir Ventura. At maraming salamat.

The professor who never failed to make his class burst into laughter. I'll never forget the time he tried hard to lock the door because he knew I'll be coming in late having been in crutches for two months. With the help of some fellow UPians passing by the 20s, we were able push hard open the door and see Prof. Ventura thrown back on a chair. Remember when during finals, we write only on the front portion of each bluebook page then flip back to write on the backpage? Weird but makes sense though for the purpose of discpline. If you have a 4 or 5, expect a call for those passing by the 20s to see an exhibit of bluebooks with a grade of 4 or 5 just for the fun of encouraging his students to study hard and not lose hope.

Prof. Ventura will always be remembered for his contributions.

Sir Ventura was the "either you love or hate" type of person. I adored him. I saw him a few years after I graduated, he recommended that I read the sequel to "Gone with the Wind" entitled "Scarlett". Just shows... he can never be categorized.

My condolences to his family, how late they may be... Godspeed, Sir.

OMG... this prof i can't forget... he locked me in the girl's CR dahil ayaw nya magpa-"may i go out" during his PI class... pero di rin nakatiis, binuksan din ung CR sabay tawa...

he may look intimidating yet he was such a sweet guy once u really know him...

i agree PI 100 would never be the same if u didn't take it up under Sir Ventura...

Mejia. Sir Ventura is really a nice guy.

I had the opportunity of taking Spanish classes under three fine teachers; Doc Botor, Mr. Mejia, and Mr. Ventura. But Lakay Fred as we fondly called him in private was more than a teacher to us. He was a father, brother, matchmaker. love counselor, and the designated drinker of whatever was left in the bottle that we cannot finish. I wish I had one last chance to thank him personally but nontheless Lakay Fred wherever you are thanks for all the good times you shared with us.
