On Sep 26, Manila and neighbouring provinces were hit by tropical typhoon Ondoy (international codename Ketsana) causing loss of lives and widespread devastation of property. Filipinos both home and abroad have united in the spirit of bayanihan so provide relief to those affected by this tragedy. And even when the storm has passed, there is still work to be done in helping those pick up the pieces and start lives anew. Here is a list (especially for the Baguio and UP community) – which will be updated regularly – of where and how you could extend a helping hand. Relief drives in UP Diliman

• Sagip Isko

Relief drive for UP Communities start at 7am tomorrow at Church of the Risen Lord. Relief drive in Ateneo College covered court until 12 midnight tonight and will resume tomorrow 7am. We need volunteers. Please share food, bottled water and blankets.



• Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs

UP’s Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs accepting donations of relief goods (canned goods, medicines, cooking utensils, soap, cleaning implements, blankets, water, etc) starting tomorrow. Please help by disseminating this information. Contact 928-2947.

• College of Architecture

A lot of Arki Students need your help. If you can donate canned goods, bottled water, clothes, and blankets tomorrow, we would be more than willing to pick them up from your house. Please text Val Consunji 0917-8583678.

• Institute of Biology

IB will be accepting from Tuesday till Friday at the Institute of Biology Diliman. Donations will be given to DSWD for distribution.

• College of Social Science and Philosophy

Donations of relief goods being accepted at Baguio Convention Center executive office. Opens daily at 10am. No noon break starting tomorrow. Goods to be brought this weekend to hard-hit areas in Marikina, Pasig and San Mateo, Rizal. There’s call for anti-pyretics, anti-diarrheals and cough syrup for kids in Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig. Volunteers needed on Thursday to sort and repack.
